Brian is eating gumbo served with akoumé, a fermented corn meal. He said the meal was slimy but good.
    The pink bowl is for washing your hands; the soap was the blue stuff in the small brown bowl. We asked first, before washing. Didn't want to commit a horrid faux pas by washing our hands in the "broth."
